Laphroaig Whisky, Islay Single Malt, Scotch, Triple Wood

Triple matured in ex-bourbon barrels, quarter casks and finally in European oak to create a subtle marriage of peat, wood and a touch of sherry sweetness. The most richly flavoured of all scotch whiskies. Estd 1815. Non-chill filtered. We use three types of barrel to create this unique blend of our signature peat-smoked liquid with softer notes of fruit and spices. After a first maturation in hand-selected ex-bourbon barrels, the liquid is transferred to smaller 19th century-style quarter casks to impart extra depth and fullness. Finally, the large size of the European oak casks (known as butts) allows for a slow maturation all leading to a soft, complex and fully rounded flavour. Please note that any cloudiness when mixed with water is normal for a non chill-filtered whisky. From a storm-lashed Island off the west coast of Scotland comes a whisky that's as rich with character as the people themselves. Its distinctive, peat smoke infused flavour has been dividing opinion since 1815. Laphroaig is your portal to Islay: Uncork a bottle and the aroma of soft, spicy peat smoke will take you on a journey straight to the heart of the island's community. Laphroaig, a Gaelic word meaning beautiful hollow by the broad bay, marries malted barley with smoke from our native, hand-cut peat to produce one of the most richly flavoured of all Scotch whiskies.
